The Italian navy probably is the best example of the reality that equipment doesn't win a war - planning, coordination, and material infrastructure do. In a stroke of luck, the RM was toying with the idea of converting their old BBs into aircraft carriers, rather than modernizing them, an idea which, luckily for us (I'm an English subject, BTW), was turned down by the master clown himself, Benito Mussolini. The Italians had a very well-balanced fleet, consisting of excellent light and heavy cruisers, outstanding DDs, very inventive torpedo boats, and specialty craft, and two generations of battleships the rebuilt ones such as Cesare, and Cavour, and the new LIttorio class, which were the most powerful battleships built by any European navy. This would open up the way for some interesting modules reflecting these improvements. Just prior to WWII, the Italians completely rebuilt their BBs increasing gun caliber, range, AA defenses, underwater protection and more. The Italian battleships could have some fun too. The use of battlecruisers could prove interesting as well. I would like to see how the Bayern class does up against the QE class from the Brits. The Germans had some good WWI designs that would be interesting to try out. Glad to hear the Brits and Germans are being added.
